Snow on thanks giving was just one of them. A wonderful year, K’s safe return from a transcontinental trip, Sus surviving a week ‘alone’ (yet surrounded by community) with the boys, and this wonderful blanket of snow heralding the holiday season. Playing in the snow with Jonah was amazing! A proper snowman, hot chocolate, and Christmas tunes punctuated the feeling of holiday magic.
may you also be feeling the advent of the season.

It has been such a fun season! This trip was such a treat. It was our first vacation as a family since we have had children. Venice did not seem an obvious place to others, but I have always wanted to go there, and actually it was perfect. Two year olds plus a town with no cars and only boats was perfect. It was so picturesque, every where we turned there was another thing to take a picture of, another beautiful sight, another historic building and beautiful spot. For Jonah, the city was full of puddles, boats, pigeons, and more boats. It was amazing, lovely, delicious (pizza, wine, espresso), and surprisingly relaxing for traveling with two children. We are so grateful for our week. It was wonderful! Enjoy the pics- there are more than anyone would really want to see, so here is a sampling!

The leaves are turning and there is no better time to take a toddler out to explore on a rambling walk. We have been enjoying the freedom from the thesis and the freedom to have rambles in general. Find pictures here... Also, click here for a link to our favorite autumn soup!

Kristian turned his thesis in two weeks ago, and it has been so much fun celebrating since then! We have gone to the railway museum in york, planted tulips, had a sleep over, slept in general, had a lot of coffee and just enjoyed the heck out of each other. We even had time to make cookies. Here are some pics from a few of the things we have done... :)

It was amazing to share MIcah and Jonah with family and friends in the states and even more wonderful to be reunited with Kristian. Hopefully we will all be in one place and all together for the foreseeable future. May you find yourself close to the ones you love...
